Speaker Bio: Maria Clotilde Carra

Associate Professor of Periodontology, University of Paris | Rothschild Hospital, Paris, France 

Dr Carra graduated at the Dental School of the University of Parma (Italy) in 2007. She obtained her PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2012 at the University of Montreal (Canada) under the direction of Pr Gilles Lavigne with a thesis titled “Rhythmic Masticatory Muscle Activity during Sleep: Etiology and Clinical Perspectives”.  Successively, Dr Carra completed the Postgraduate Program in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) as well as a Master degree in Periodontics at the University of Paris-Diderot (France).

Dr Carra is currently associate professor in the Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Odontology of the University of Paris. Dr Carra has a hospital-based clinical practice exclusively dedicated to periodontology, implant dentistry, and dental sleep medicine. Her research activity focuses on periodontal medicine, particularly on the relationships between periodontitis and sleep disorders.
